This issue has been around a while, I keep hoping it will get caught. I have a ton of macros configured to use a two-keystroke trigger. I'm running XP SP2 and the only stable mouse driver MS has made in years, v.4.02. Something is causing MTW to lose it's communication with the keyboard hooks, and the two-keystroke triggers stop working. It takes a re-boot to get them working again. It's an annoyance, but not critical, yet. It's something I'll need to sort out before I can do anything more than beta-test though, and I'm not more than 3-4 months from starting beta.

Hello,

by "two-keystroke trigger" you mean a text shortcut like "ab" or do you mean an extended hotkey such as "Alt+X"+"Alt+1"?
Do the triggers stop working after a macro is executed or just randomly?

Thanks for your feedback,
Petr

Hey Petr,

Thanks for the reply. When I said two-keystroke trigger, I meant the latter example: "Alt+X , Alt+1". Actually, when I wrote the post, I struggled with what to call the hotkey - I guess coming up with a good name for them would help communication, as well as promote them more extensively. How about 'compound hotkeys'?

I discovered their use in MTW about the same time I discovered them in EditPad. I'd have to say that after over fifteen years of macro development and use, the ability to use compound hotkey triggers is one of the most of the advancements, if not THE advancement, to have the most significant impact on my macro work. It's one of the reasons I'd really like to see the problem fixed.

Speaking of fixed problems, it looks like the wrap around problem is fixed, as well.

Hello GeoD,

in the program, this type of hotkey is called "extended hotkey" which is, I believe, how this is called in MS Word.

When the problem with extended hotkey presents, does normal hotkey work OK?
Do ALL extended hotkey stop working?
What about text shortcuts (such as .sct), do they work ro not?
Are you able to make the problem happen (for example by repeating a sequence of macros started by extended hotkeys)?

Currently I'm not able to repeat this problem which makes it more difficult to find what is wrong... :(

Thanks,
Petr
