Hi all,

got a problem with some windows 7 systems here. We are using MTW (std. edition).
Programm is launched from a network folder (we make use of user.ini etc.). Now every
user hat a specific batch file on his local disc (copied to system32 or any other folder
that has an entry in path system variable). On XP machines a macro that calls this batch
file works perfectly fine. Calling this batch file from a macro on a win7 machine shows
up an error message:

"XYZ.bat not excecutable" or in german: "xyz.bat nicht ausführbar"

Now I think that this is a win7 issue. So i tried the following:

- set UAC to a lower level
- entered the network folder path to security level "intranet" in Internet Explorer
- start MTW as Admin (also startmtwasadmin.exe)

... but nothing worked. So does anyone have an idea what else could cause this problem?

Hello,

I expect that if you try to run the .bat file on the local machine directly (like by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer) it works fine, right?

What about creating a shortcut this .bat file and instead of starting .bat file from the macro rather start the shortcut?

You also mentioned that this is problem on some Windows 7 systems. So what is different on those machines?

Hi Petr,

I´ll check next week and let you know. I´m shure that it´s a windows 7 related problem
and not MTW. I thought maybe someone else also has (or had) this problem.

Hi,

thanks! Your suggestion to try with a shortcut to the batch file did work! Now I decided
to put the batch file on the fileserver and to change the macro for all users. That
too works.

Solved.
